Frequently Asked Questions
Everything a client asks before booking, and most of what they ask afterwards.
BEFORE YOU COMPARE QUOTES
Three different things are called insurance.
Quotes in this industry are often compared as though these three are the same. They are not. Before you compare Yugo with anyone, understand which of them a company is quoting you.

WHAT IT ACTUALLY COVERS
Commercial general liability
$5,000,000 per occurrence
Damage to property, premises, and third parties. Your building's management asks for this on the certificate of insurance. It does not replace a broken object of yours.
Essential valuation
$0.60 per pound, per item, up to $15,000 per shipment
The industry default across Canada, calculated by weight rather than value. On a 40 lb chair it is $24, whatever the chair cost. It is a contractual limit on a mover's liability, not insurance, and it is not required by any Ontario statute.
Signature valuation
$5.00 per pound, per item, up to $50,000 per shipment
Included with Signature. Your valuation is set by the service tier you book and cannot be raised for the same move. Set out in full in Section 12 of our Terms & Conditions.
Reserve valuation
Up to $100,000 per shipment
Repair, replacement with an item of like kind and quality, or a cash payment of its current replacement cost. Each item is covered up to $10,000; a higher value can be declared in writing before the move. Included with Reserve.
Yugo carries commercial general liability, commercial auto, and cargo coverage with licensed insurers, and every level of service carries a declared valuation. Crew are covered by WSIB, and the certificate of insurance is issued to you and your building before move day rather than on request.
