Before the day

Moving in Halton: what we plan for

Condo buildings

Most condos ask for an elevator or loading dock booking, a deposit and a certificate of insurance before move day, and many allow moves only in set hours. We send the certificate to your building at no charge, and arrange the booking ourselves where your quote says so.

Houses and older homes

The Old Oakville heritage district alone has 162 homes, mostly one and two storeys, built in the 19th century. Houses of that age tend to have narrow doors, steep stairs and original floors, so we measure and protect before anything is lifted, and plan for large pieces that will not turn a corner.

Parking and timing

Street parking rules differ by town. Oakville allows three hours unless signed, and no parking from 2 a.m. to 6 a.m. (all year north of Dundas Street, November 15 to April 15 south of it). Burlington allows five hours on most residential streets and none from 1 a.m. to 6 a.m. We use the driveway where we can and plan the day inside the limit.
