Before the day

Moving in York Region: what we plan for

Condo buildings

Most condos ask for an elevator or loading dock booking, a deposit and a certificate of insurance before move day, and many allow moves only in set hours. We send the certificate to your building at no charge, and arrange the booking ourselves where your quote says so.

Houses and older homes

Unionville's heritage district in Markham covers 210 properties, and Kleinburg and Nashville have one of their own. Older houses tend to have narrow doors, steep stairs and original floors. We measure and protect before anything is lifted, and on estate drives in King we check gate width, turning room and where the truck can stand.

Parking and timing

From March 1 to May 31, King Township limits vehicles to five tonnes per axle on designated roads, and some York Region roads in King carry limits of their own, two of them all year. For a spring move to King City, Nobleton or Schomberg we check the route and size the vehicle to suit, and arrival times are set around Highway 400 and 404 traffic.
