White glove moving in Markham

Yugo moves homes and businesses across Markham, from Unionville, Markham Village and Thornhill to Cornell and Markham Centre, planned and dispatched from our Toronto base.

Markham has four heritage districts and a fast-growing downtown, so moves here range from 19th-century houses to new towers. Each one is planned before the day.

Before the day

Moving in Markham: what we plan for

Condo buildings

Markham Centre, around Highway 7 just north of Highway 407, is the city's growing downtown. Most towers ask for an elevator or loading dock booking, a deposit and a certificate of insurance before move day. We send the certificate at no charge and book the dock where your quote says so.

Heritage homes

Markham has four heritage conservation districts: Thornhill, Markham Village, Buttonville and Unionville, which alone covers 210 properties. Older houses tend to have narrow doors and steep stairs, so we measure and protect before anything is lifted.

Parking and timing

Street parking is not allowed anywhere in Markham from 2:30 a.m. to 6 a.m., and the City grants no overnight exemptions from November 1 to March 31. A container or bin on the road needs a Road Occupancy Permit, which takes about 10 business days. From March 1 to April 30, load limits apply on Major Mackenzie Drive east of the Markham Bypass.
